Dr. Iijima Shoji
Visiting Lecturer
Dr. Iijima has been working for many years as a teacher for Japanese at Heidelberg University. Now we are glad that he will teach a course regarding “Japanese for sinologists”.

- 1946 Born in Japan
- 1968 Bachelor of Economics University Hôsei in Tôkyô
- 1972 Master of Sociology at Hôsei
- 1974 – 1979 studied philosophy and history of political Ideas at
the University of Bucharest; Doctorate in Materialism in Japanese Philosophy
- 1984-1985 participation and completion of the course “Japanese as a foreign language” at the “National Language Research Institute” in Tôkyô
- 1985-1987 employed at the “International Cooperation Service Center” in Tôkyô,
- In 1986 also as lecturer in Japanese at the Institute of Language Education at Waseda University in Tôkyô
- 1987 – 2011 Researcher and lecturer in Japanese at the Department of Japanese Studies at the University of Heidelberg
- 2011 May retirement
- 2011- 2012 Lecturer at the Japanese Studies, University of Heidelberg
