Dear Students,
The new semester is approaching. The process of applying for study abroad 2017 will start right after the beginning of the semester. Here I announce the steps of the first stage of application and selection process – application within the department.
Step I: All those who are eligible to apply need to fill in the application form (see the attached file), print it out and submit the hard copy to Ms. Nolte at the departmental secretariat. Deadline of submission: noon, Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016. No exception. Those who fail to submit the application in time will have to accept the study places left.
Step II: The department will examine the application forms to see whether the applications match the available study places of relative partner universities or not. Some popular universities may have more applicants than the available spots. In this case, we’ll proceed to the next step: pot-luck drawing. We’ll announce the exact time for pot-luck drawing through email on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016. Be sure to check your email during the weekend since the pot-luck drawing time will be on the first two days of the following week.
Step III: Pot-luck drawing for those who need to. For those who do not get the applied spot through pot-luck drawing, we’ll discuss afterwards to ensure everyone gets a study place.
Step IV: Once everyone has a study place, the department will submit the allocation to Göttingen International at the beginning of November.
Thus we complete the first stage of application. Further steps for future stages to be announced.
IMPORTANT:
1. Please check your email regularly during the entire application process, make sure that you receive important information in time.
2. Students of BA Modernes China, all MA students DO NOT apply through us. They can apply in a competitive process for one of the university-wide study places in China.
