MA / LLM Chinese Law & Comparative Law
The degree program comprises a total of four semesters, two of which must be spent in Göttingen and the remaining two in Nanjing (language of instruction: German). Its purpose is to give significant insight into Chinese Law to students who have already completed a degree in Law or Sinology.
Depending on the student’s choice of formal specialization, the degree program will lead to varying competence profiles. Whereas the competence area for the degree program with a specialization in Sinology, in addition to its focus on Chinese law, puts more emphasis on contextual China-related subjects (politics, society, economy and history of China), as well as history of law and philosophy of law, students in the Master’s degree program with a specialization in Law will, above all, acquire extensive knowledge of Chinese law and application of law.
