Qiu Shuzhen was born in Fujian, China and studied Literature and Chinese Language at Minzu University of China in Beijing. Later she received her Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) at Beijing Normal University.
She was a TCSOL teacher at Beijing Center for International Chinese Education. She had 4 years of teaching experience in Europe. Since September, 2020, she has been a TCSOL teacher at Nanjing University.
Her research interests include the professional development of TCSOL teachers and the autonomy in Chinese teaching and learning.
